Copy Protected No More.

A great Newtonian, and personal friend, Paul Gammon shared a wonderful extension with me today. It is called EEUnProtect. The purpose of it is to allow you too move copy protected .pkgs from internal storage to flash card storage and vice-versa. E.g., I installed Works Better (A must have, only cost me $10 not too long ago from StandAlone) onto my 20MB AMD flash card in my eMate. I decided that I want it on my eMate's internal memory, incase I have my NIC card installed or another flash card. Come to find out it is copy protected and I can not file it in the internal memory. Argghhhhh! Wait....! (Enter Paul) Instead of deleting it, reinstalling it, and re-registering I just need to have this extension installed. Viola! I can move any .pkg regardless of its protection, and it allows 'Beaming' copy protected .pkgs. This was a wonderful addition to all my Newtons and I would strongly recommend it everyone.

You can download it here! (NewtScape friendly download)

The Private Stash.

As some of you may know by now I have decided to liquidate my personal Newton collection... or most of it. I will add it too the Stores on this site first, and then the eBay store. Please check back regularly so you don’t miss out on any items! Unfortunately it is while supplies last.

Calling ALL Developers....

Ultimately the fate of the Newton Platform lies within our hands. Other than NewtonSales.com’s efforts to create hardware mods, we know that the hardware isn’t going to change. We must take it upon ourselves to continue to create and share, or sell if you must, modern Newton apps, games, and utilities! We could always use more developers like Simon Bell, Paul Guyot, Steve Weyer, and Eckhart Köppen, but those are few and far between. Instead we just need anyone and everyone that can program for the Newton OS too program for the Newton OS. Let’s see how many iOS apps we can port, or at least portions of iOS apps. Let’s create drivers for more PC Cards. Let’s create drivers for WPA/WPA2 and 802.11g. Let’s create an Email client with SSL support. Their can never be enough games, nor flavors of productivity apps so let’s keep the Newton Echo-System a float! It is an App driven world and TheAppleNewton.com would be happy to host, sale, and distribute any new Newton apps of any capacity.
